July 11 – Proposed Gas Station/Convenience Store at Young and Redan

6 p.m. , Zoom

Do you think we have enough gas stations, convenience stores, and auto-related businesses in our neighborhood?  It is the position of the Greater Hidden Hills CDC that we do and that we need a diversity of desirable businesses.  During the DeKalb County Planning Commission meeting, the proposal to convert an auto repair shop into a convenience store with fuel pumps will be discussed. The public will have an opportunity to speak.  Then, the commission makes a recommendation to the Board of Commissioners.

The link has not yet been provided, but you can see the proposal and latest information by going to this DeKalb County Planning page.  Scroll down to the July zoning applications and click on the one for 6061 Redan Road.

Aug. 6, 2024 – Draft Recommendations on the Redan Road Corridor Improvements

5 – 7 p.m.
Hairston Crossing Library

4911 Redan Road
Stone Mountain
DeKalb County is identifying opportunities to transform the Redan Road corridor from a two-lane street to one that accommodates walking, biking, transit, cars and trucks with improved traffic operations and safety, which supports existing users, economic development, and the planned I-285 Express Lane access. The study includes Redan Road from Kensington Road/Holcombe Road to South Hairston Road.

Many people attended the March 20 public meeting or provided input online. The comments, survey results, and background information are available at this link.
